Mark 14:3, “...there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious, and she broke the box, and poured it on his head.”
There are lessons in the story of the woman who poured perfume on Jesus. One clear point is that what you do for God can be a private act between you and Him. The disciples complained that the perfume was wasted, but Jesus defended her: Mark 14:6, “Let her alone; why trouble ye her?” Another powerful lesson is how she gave. She didn’t open the jar carefully to save some for later…she broke it and poured everything out. That shows total, sacrificial devotion: nothing held back, no plan to keep a piece for herself. Think about what that looks like in your life. What can you give…time, attention, resources, or praise…that’s fully for God, not for show or for later? Let this woman’s example challenge you to give with the same abandon.
